I started Creative Works LLC back in 1987 fresh out of Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in Fine Art Painting and Sculpture. The business began as an Art and Picture Frame Gallery but within a few years the focus changed to include custom moulding production. Local cabinet makers began buying a wide variety of my historical profiles that I had traced overseas in Europe to embellish their projects. Shortly there after I moved the business to our present location in Rochelle Park, NJ.
The new location was essential for the expansion of the operation and enabled me to acquire industrial grade machinery to produce greater quality and volume. All of the work that my employees and I produce here is seen through the prism of Fine Art and Architecture. Below is a photograph of a recent piece of my artwork from a Hudson River series entitled "Storm On The Hudson". My new internally backlit work fully integrates all of what we do producing millwork with painting and sculpture.
If you have a moulding profile that you need to duplicate historical or otherwise, we can help. Simply email or Fax a detailed drawing with scale dimensions listed and we will reply with a detailed estimate of the cost and lead-time.
Much of the time, especially with old homes many of the original mouldings are missing. Based on the mouldings that are still present we are able to give design alternatives to add new profiles that are authentic to match the period of the architecture. With new construction we can also curate entire moulding design packages to give your home a unique and distinctive feel. At the moment we have more 1600 moulding profiles to choose from exemplifying many periods and styles.
We regularly custom machine client's lumber that is supplied to us for a whole host of purposes. For example: Cabinet makers that are making millwork from unusual or exotic species commonly require mouldings in the same material. Another service involves simply flattening or planning lumber for future use in a project with our heavy machinery.
